Goals

We believe that creative arts and theatre are powerful and effective tools for inviting individuals to explore their own behaviour and acting as a catalyst for enhancing personal individual development to inspire change. Our vision with the use of the arts is to provide opportunities for participants to seek and explore situations closely related to their transition back into society and manage their own life experiences.

Our goal is early intervention and prevention by helping to support young people at risk during key times go through periods of change; work to change thinking, behaviour and social identity through the arts. Increasing empowerment and control of their future with a clear sense of purpose and meaning in life (self-efficacy). By seeing and valuing young people for who they are and working with the skills and creativity they have to enhance and improve literacy. Enhance self-esteem, self-assurance, self- confidence in young people with aspirations for the future. Street Cones will create an environment to facility awareness for participation in our group workshops, active engagement to ensure that participants are able to challenge their own thinking by identifying with people’s points of view.

We aim to work with young people and give them a voice with dignity combined with hope to open up new future possibilities that the arts can support. We believe that the persons we work with are much more than their past therefore we want to use their stories to humanize, challenge people’s perceptions, ignite debate by providing new insights about change for those in and coming out the criminal justice system. Our interactive performances, creative group-work, film-making projects and issue-based interventions are designed to engage, motivate and inspire young people to explore their pro social pathways in life.

Street Cones aims to give young people a voice and dignity, combined with hope to open up new future possibilities, we believe that there is so much more than their past that can be unlocked to inspire others, therefore we want to use their stories to humanize, challenge people’s perceptions, ignite debate by providing new insights about change for those in and coming out the criminal justice system.
